Configurator
The FDESand EPDconfigurator.
Doors, windows, insulation, profiles: beyond twenty variants, nobody redoes an LCA per declaration. The configurator is verified once, then issues every FDES or EPD.

The principle
The principle
Concrete has BETie, cement has the GCCA tool: a parametric LCA model, verified once, from which manufacturers draw their declarations. We build the same tool for your catalogue, with your data and processes, then have it verified. Each variant gets its declaration without a new study.
How it works
How it works
Your parameters go in, the verified model calculates, the declaration comes out. The verifier checks the model and its limits, not each declaration.
Input
Your parameters
- DimensionsW × H × thk.
- Main materialclosed list
- Optionsglazing, finish…
- Manufacturing siteplant A / B
Engine
VerifiedThe family's LCA model
Calculation rules, factors, scenarios and validity bounds set with the verifier. Everything that comes out stays within the verified scope.
- A1-A3Production
- A4-A5Transport and installation
- B1-B7Use stage
- C1-C4End of life
- DBenefits beyond the system
Output
One declaration per variant
- FDES ready for INIES
- EPD in the programme's format
- Digital file for calculation software
The values of each declaration come from your data and the verified model. Nothing is typed by hand.
The point
The benefits
Twenty products or more
From about twenty variants, the cost of one declaration at a time becomes absurd. The model is built once, the declarations follow.
A single verification
The approved verifier checks the model, its assumptions and its bounds. Each generated declaration inherits that verification.
Declarations in days
A new reference is declared in days, not months. Your product launches no longer depend on a verifier's queue.
Always up to date
New supplier, new plant, database update: we update the model, your declarations are regenerated.
Your tool
Web application hosted in Europe, usable by your product and marketing teams. We develop in TypeScript and Python, on your brand.
Your model
The LCA model and the application are yours. You can change provider, the model stays.
The frame
The offer
Two phases: build and verify the model, then keep it alive.
- Declarations
- FDES, EPD, PEP
- The model outputs declarations in the target programme's format: INIES, EPD International, IBU, EPD Hub, NMD or PEP ecopassport®.
- Standard
- EN 15804+A2 or PSR
- The family's rules are coded into the model and frozen with the verifier. Validity bounds are documented.
- Scope
- One technical family
- A configurator covers one homogeneous family: same process, same materials, variants of dimensions and options.
- Lead time
- One quarter
- To build the model and the tool and pass verification, as a guide. Then a new declaration is generated in a few days.
- Price
- Quoted per family
- Building and verifying the model, then an annual maintenance covering database updates and new references.
- Verification
- The model, once
- The verifier checks the model, its assumptions and its bounds. Generated declarations inherit that verification as long as they stay within bounds.

Our method
The four steps
From splitting the range to the first declaration.
Catalogue split into homogeneous families, choice of parameters (dimensions, materials, options, sites), applicable rules and validity bounds.
Our method
The four steps

Family scoping
Catalogue split into homogeneous families, choice of parameters (dimensions, materials, options, sites), applicable rules and validity bounds.
Model and tool
Parametric LCA of the family, factors and scenarios, then a web application linking your parameters to the calculation and the layout of the declarations.
Model verification
Evidence file, test sets on extreme variants, exchanges with the approved verifier until the model's attestation.
Life of the tool
Training of your teams, first declarations generated, then annual maintenance: databases, new references, re-verification at expiry.
Who does the work
The people who sign your declarations
No anonymous subcontracting: an in-house LCA team in Lille that follows your file from scoping to publication and answers the verifier on your behalf.
The whole team
Nathan Gourdin
Co-founder, eco-design expert
Leads environmental declarations and key accounts. Scopes every file with the verifier.

Thomas Schmitt
Senior LCA consultant
Models product families and builds the reusable models, from bill of materials to the 28 indicators.

Evane Durand
LCA consultant
Collects and checks plant data, drafts the declarations and assembles the verification files.
Glossary
The words of the declaration, without jargon
Eight terms that come up in every file. You will find them in our quotes, in the declaration and in the verifier's remarks.
- PCR
- Product Category Rules: the calculation rules of one product category in an EPD programme. They set the declared unit, the modules to cover and the scenarios to use. An EPD is always made under a given PCR, with its version and date.
- PSR
- Product Specific Rules: the PCR's equivalent in the PEP ecopassport® programme. One rule per equipment family (heat pumps, luminaires, cables…) setting reference service life, use scenario and functional unit.
- Functional unit
- The quantity of product for which impacts are expressed: one square metre of window, one linear metre of profile, one heat pump delivering a given service for a given time. It is what makes two products comparable.
- Reference service life
- The number of years the product performs its function in the building. The RE2020 calculation spans fifty years: a short service life multiplies replacements and inflates the product's impact.
- Modules A1 to D
- The life cycle split in EN 15804: A1 to A3 production, A4 and A5 transport and installation, B use stage, C end of life, D benefits beyond the system (recycling, recovery). An FDES covers every module.
- Default data
- The environmental value RE2020 software uses when a product has no declaration. It is inflated by design to push manufacturers to declare. It is what an individual declaration beats.
- Third-party verification
- The check of the declaration by an independent verifier approved by the programme. They check the rules, the data, the calculations and the consistency of the declaration, then issue an attestation. Without it, the declaration cannot be published.
- Digital format
- The machine-readable version of the declaration: ILCD file or digital EPD, carrying every indicator per module. That file is what building calculation tools read, not the PDF.
